Faith Works Bible College is an exciting course designed to build the local Church. Our prayer is that students will be empowered by the Word of God, build great relationships and be planted and flourishing in God’s House.

Gosport Family Church is the ‘younger sister’ of our Portsmouth congregation.

Family Church is governed by a team of Senior Leader. The Senior Leaders of Family Church are supported by a team of Primary Leaders, Core Leaders and General Leaders. Family Church is a working name of Hearts on Fire for Jesus Ltd. This is our charity name and we have been registered in the UK as a charity since 1995.

Pastored by Steve & Kirsty Carey, the congregation meets at Park Community School, on Middle Park Way in Havant, meeting at 10:30 am every Sunday morning.

Andy and Gina Elmes pioneered Family Church in October 1997, the first service taking place at Buckland Community Centre on Sunday 12th October. Over the first few weeks numbers averaged about twenty people, many of whom are still on the journey with us today – as we would have expected!

This is just a taste of what happens at Kid’s Church here at Family Church! You’ll find that your kids can’t wait to come back again!

Being a Kingdom Builder in Family Church means making a personal commitment to build the church of tomorrow. Kingdom Builders are stewards of God’s House, passionately serving the church of today as well as being dedicated to the church of tomorrow. With a desire to build a church that will impact future generations, Kingdom Builders sow their time, energy, skills and finance into Family Church. Kingdom Builders take the church to where it’s going next.

Lifegroups are the heart of Family Church. They are where real friendships are formed, where strength and encouragement is shared, where Sunday’s messages are discussed at a greater depth, and where everyone can grow in their relationship with God. We have lifegroups meeting in homes all over the Portsmouth/Gosport area, and further afield.

Regardless of how many years you’ve been married, and how good or bad that marriage seems to be, we believe that the Marriage Enrichment Course is a great way to be inspired as a couple, and that you’ll be better equipped to make the most of the relationship God has brought into your life.

Being a Partner of Family Church means making a commitment to serve today’s church with passion and enthusiasm. It’s about actively contributing to the team who make Family Church happen on a day to day basis. Partners of Family Church love the vision, discover their part in serving the call of God upon the church, and come alongside the rest of the team to ‘make it happen’.

Family Church in Portsmouth meet every Sunday at the City Girls’ School on St Mary’s Road.

Over the years Family Church has established strong friendships with other churches and ministries across the uk as well as internationally. These ministries look to Family Church for different levels of input and leadership, and indeed journey with us. All of these churches have a similar style and culture to Family Church, so if you’re not living in the Portsmouth area and are looking for a church like Family Church, check out this list and you may find one in your area.
