Wealth Creation Initiatives

Members of Family Church are currently raising money for the church Building Fund, with a view to raise a significant ‘deposit’ for the purchase of a worship centre and community facility in the city of Portsmouth. A large number of people have started to raise money through initiatives such as sponsored events; providing a service or starting a business; taking on some kind of money-raising project.

The listing below gives details of many of the current Wealth Creation initiatives that Family Church people are involved with. For full details please use the contact details given in each item.

This listing is not exhaustive, but it is meant as a tool for those who would like to find out more about any of the current Wealth Creation initiatives that have been logged with us. You may want to make use of the services provided, purchase the products on offer, or even contact the person who is leading the initiative if you feel you could get involved with what they are doing. You may have skills that you feel could help make one of these initiatives more successful. You may also want to point out these initiatives to other people in your world who may be interested.

Disclaimer:
Each one of the initiatives listed here have been ‘submitted to’ with and ‘approved’ by Family Church, however, it is the responsibility of the person in charge of each initiative to ensure money raised from their initiative is put toward the church Building Fund. If you put money toward any of these initiatives it is on the understanding that the people involved will be personally responsible for ensuring funds they raise are deposited with Family Church. Many of these individuals have personally pledged a significant amount of money to the Building Fund and are seeking to raise funds to fulfil their pledges through these initiatives.

Family Church Has Got Talent night

Name: Sally & Gary Branch
Phone: 023 9232 4254

We aim to put on an event for everyone in Family Church as a showcase for the talented people within the church. It will be loosely based on the popular TV show Britain's Got Talent.

Our aim is to find a very cheap (or free) large venue to stage the event and we will sell tickets, with all proceeds going to the building fund. People within the church would be encouraged to sell tickets to family/friends/colleagues to maximise the profits. It is vital the venue is not costly or this will cancel out the profit. This will be staged in the first quarter of 2010 to enable us to concentrate on the other large events that are coming between now and Christmas.

Commission for Church from Business Referrals

Name: Waida Lakudzala
Tel: 023 9281 5496
Website: www.seniorcareservices.co.uk

Details of Initiative:

Senior Care Services is an existing Nurses Agency. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission to supply trained nurses and care assistants to hospitals, nursing homes and residential homes. Our income is commission which is 28% of service charge (excluding VAT and transport charge). For example, if service charge is £6000, then commission is £1680.

We are suggesting that the church and partners should use the business resources available to create commission for the church (at 17.9% of our income). So in the above example £300.72 would go towards church fund. The church and partners should introduce the agency to new clients and revenue from these referrals would go towards the fund.

We also have room for expansion as a business and many church members may be suitable for our register of nurses and care assistants. Once registered with us, these individuals would earn income which they could then tithe to the church and pledge to the Building Fund.

Please contact Waida for further details, to refer new clients, or to enquire about registering with Senior Care Services as a nurse or care assistant.

Selling Old Gold

Name: Church Office
Phone: 023 9266 2257

www.postalgold.com/?gclid=COPmwc31-poCFZF_3godJEGRew

This website offers individuals the opportunity to cash in their scrap/broken/unwanted gold.

This appears to be a great way to earn money which you can donate to the church Building Fund, if you have a heart to do so. Please don’t feel obliged to do this, it’s simply a suggestion.

We know of people who have used this facility with no problems at all, but we need to reitterate that if you choose to use this facility you do so at your own risk.

Sponsored Parachute Jump

Name: Leah Hargreaves
Phone: 023 9273 5989

I am doing a sponsored parachute Jump on Saturday 25th July. I will be jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet, freefalling for 5,000!! Eeek!

I have designed a great sponsor form and have been asking everyone I meet if they would like to sponsor me. I have emailed everyone in my address book, sent a message to 600 friends on Facebook, and asked nearly everyone I work with. The more people you ask, the greater chance of getting more money!

At first I found it hard to ask people to sponsor me, but I have discovered that most people are very generous and willing to give.

I have been invited to speak on the local radio station about my Jump, so hopefully that will encourage more sponsors!

If you would like to sponsor me please get in touch! Thank you.

£50 cash by switching banks!

Name: Hannah Harman
Phone: 07724815234

I recently enquired about changing banks and found that HSBC are offering a £50 cash reward for switching to them. They give you a form, simple to fill in and sign and you give it back to them. They give it to your current bank, your current bank contacts you for confirmation, you give that confirmation and they transfer all direct debit and standing order details to HSBC. It is guaranteed to be completed within 30 days. Simple.

HSBC has recently been described as the most trusted bank in Britain with the most fair charges. I am doing this myself and feel it is very beneficial and the £50 is a brilliant added extra to go towards the Building Fund.

This offer is running from 1st September to 4th October.
