Day 1
We woke up this morning and it was freezing, it was sooo cold, but now it’s gorgeous. We are currently sat with AMT (Advanced Missions Training) students out the back of the main centre and eating lunch (nshima: funny mash stuff.) It’s the best place to sit and think here, it’s so beautiful! We are going down to the warehouse again in a minute to finish prepping the truck, and then we are hiking the gorge at 3.
It feels like we never left, just carried on from last year, but at the same time its really different. Everyone at Rapid 19 base says Hi.
The mission that left the base today for Angola are going for a month and travelling for 6 days!
We are meeting the americans tomorrow who will make up the rest of our team, then we’ll be having training. Thursday we’ll visit Victoria Falls and on Friday we head out on our mission, returning Saturday 13th. We can’t wait to get to the village.
