A whole week gone by
Hi! We have been here a week now and have done so much and travelled so far – it seems like two weeks.
Today was an incredible day. We rose early to have breakfast with the pastor and then we travelled on motorbikes and sidecars to a squatter village. Crossing a bamboo bridge on foot we entered this remote village to be met by loads of kids. We joined a feeding program for them and fed them all soup. We spent so much time with these forgotten kids, they would not let go of our hands or let us go – it was very moving.
We then had some lunch and rode, rode, rode the bikes and sidecars (six of the team on each) to a very remote fishing village where we ministered to a crowd that had gathered under a mango tree – many responded to the Gospel. It was so hot, we stopped on the way back at a fishing area and swam in the sea before heading back to change.
We where then picked up by the bikes again and driven through many dusty alleyways till we arrived a lamppost in the middle of some shacks. There we did an open air meeting to that whole shack community; at the end of my message again many responded to become friends of God, including the president of the area, who was greatly touched by God. We then returned to the church to rejoice in the day’s fruit.
What a great day so many lives touched by God, all of the team are buzzing. Now for a quick sleep and up for 5 am to drive to the airport to fly back to Manila for a meeting in the afternoon.
The team are all doing well and send their love; pray these mouth ulcers caused by maleria tablets clear up – very painful when you eat, especially pineapple!
Love Andy and the team
