Homeward bound

On our final day we took some time out to relax and de-brief the mission trip. We travelled to an area that had white beaches and coral oceans. There we relaxed, ate and reflected on the trip. We hired snorkels and goggles, and swam over the coral reefs – it was amazing to see the many different fish in that undersea world, reminding us of what a great Creator our God is.

After spending the last day enjoying time out we travelled back to Manila for a final night of sweaty sleep before leaving early to check in to our flight home. All the team are tired yet thankful for the experience we have had. We ended up visiting 18 different places in 15 days, bringing the Gospel as well as relief to some. We have had the opportunity to bless many people, but really I think it is us who have been more blessed; blessed by the hearts of those who love God here, blessed by the reminder of how well off we are in the worlds we return too.

Missions enable us to see the world outside the one we live in, and open our heart to the needs of the larger world. I am grateful that Family Church has a heart not only for its city and its nation but also the world.

See you soon,

Andy and the team.
